Protezler

Protezler, ağızda çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı kaybedilen dişlerin çiğneme, konuşma gibi fonksiyonlarının ihtiyaçların ve estetik görüntünün yeniden hastaya kazandırılması amacıyla hazırlanan tüm yapay materyallerdir. Genel olarak diş eti hastalıklarının tedavi edilmemesi sonucunda diş ve kemik kaybı meydana gelir.

Protezde, kaybedilen ağız sağlığı düzeltilir. Bu amaçla yitirilen dudak, yanak desteği, konuşma fonksiyonu, çiğneme fonksiyonu ve estetik görüntü geri kazanılır. Eksik yada harap olmuş dişlerle yaşamak zorunda kalan, gülmeyi unutmuş bireylerin psikolojik açıdan desteklenmesi sağlanır. Protezlerle insanların yaşam kalitesinin yükseltilmesi amaçlanır.

 PROTEZ ÇEŞİTLERİ

Sabit Protezler
Hastanın kendisinin çıkarmadığı kron-köprü gibi yapıştırma protezler.

 Hareketli Protezler
Hastanın kendisinin istediği zaman takıp çıkartabildiği protezlerdir.

Total Protezler: Tüm dişlerin eksik olduğu ağızlara uygulanır.
Parsiyel Protezler: Kısmen dişsiz ağızlara uygulanır. Dişler üzerine gelen tırnaklar ve kancalarla tutuculuk sağlanır.
Hassas Tutuculu Protezler: Kısmen dişsiz ağızlara uygulanır. Kanca gibi dışardan görünen herhangi bir aparatı olmayan estetik protezlerdir. 
 
İmplant Üstü Protezler

Sabit: İmplanttan destek alınarak yapılan köprü veya kronlardır.
Hareketli: Kemik desteği yeterli olmayan ağızlarda tercih edilen implantlardan destek alınarak yapılan total benzeri protezlerdir. 
 
HAREKETLİ PROTEZLERİN TEMİZLİĞİ

Plak, yiyecek artığı ve tartar oluşumunun önüne geçebilmek için protezlerinizin günlük temizlik ve bakımı önemlidir. Protez altındaki dokunun sağlığının idamesi, enfeksiyonların önüne geçilmesi için düzenli bakım şarttır.

Yemeklerden sonra protezinizi suda yıkayarak yiyecek artıklarını uzaklaştırın.
Yatmadan önce su, çeşitli diş macunları yada protez bakım ürünleri kullanarak protezinizi fırçalamalısınız. Fırçalama işleminde aşındırıcı tozlar protez yüzeyine zarar vereceği için aşındırıcı tozlar kullanılmamalıdır. Fırçalama işleminde özel protez fırçaları yada normal diş fırçaları kullanılabilir.
Günlük fırçalamayla birlikte özel efervesan protez temizleme tabletleri kullanılarak kimyasal haftalık ptotez bakımı da yapılmalıdır.
Tüm bu bakıma rağmen uzun zaman zarfında protez içine işleyen lekeler ve tartarlar ancak diş doktorunuz tarafından ultrasonik araçlarla temizlenebilir ve protezinizin cilası yenilenir.
Protezlerinize ilk günkü haliyle uzun süre kullanabilmeniz için, altı ayda bir düzenli olarak doktorunuzu ziyaret etmeyi unutmayınız.
