Diş Taşı (Tartar)

Diştaşı-tartar, tükrükteki kalsiyum tuzlarının, bakteri plağı vasıtasıyla dişe yapışması sonucu oluşur. Diş taşının hastalık oluşumundaki ana etkisi, diş etinin iritasyonuna neden olmasının yanısıra, sürekli bakterilerle çevrili olmasından kaynaklanır. Diş taşı, plağın periodontal dokularla yakın temasta kalmasına ve plak temizliğinin mümkün olmadığı alanların oluşmasına neden olur. Diştaşı, diş yüzeylerinin yanısıra protezler üzerinde de oluşabilir.

Diştaşı oluşum yerine göre sınıflandırılır:

Supragingival diştaşı: Dişeti sınırının üzerinde oluşan diş taşıdır ve gözle görülebilir. En fazla üst 1. büyük azı dişlerinin yanağa bakan yüzeylerinde ve alt kesici dişlerin dile bakan yüzeylerinde oluşur. Çünkü bu bölgelerde tükrük kanalları ağza açılmaktadır.

Subgingival diştaşı: Dişeti sınırının altında oluşan diştaşıdır ve gözle görülemez. Supragingival diş taşına göre daha koyu renktedir ve dişe daha sıkı yapışır.

Supragingival ve subgingival diştaşı genellikle birlikte oluşur, ancak biri olmadan sadece diğeri de oluşabilir.
